Replay can notify you by email and text message so you never miss a new assignment, feedback on a session, or a coaching update — even when you’re not logged in. Both channels are opt-in. You verify each one separately from your profile, and then choose exactly which notifications you want on each channel.

Setting up email

1

Open your profile

Click your avatar in the bottom-left corner of the app. This opens your profile settings, where you’ll see two cards at the top: Email Communication and Text Communication.
2

Start email setup

Click Set up Email on the Email Communication card. A setup modal appears.
3

Verify your email

Replay sends a six-digit verification code to your email address. Paste the code into the modal and click Verify. This confirms you own the address and can receive notifications there.
4

Agree to automated notifications

Accept the automated notification agreement. This gives Replay permission to send you emails when events happen (new assignments, feedback, etc.).
Once verified, the Email Communication card turns green with a Verified badge and shows your email address.

Setting up text

Text setup follows a similar flow, but instead of Replay texting you a code, you text Replay first to verify your number.
1

Open your profile

If you’re not already there, click your avatar in the bottom-left corner to open your profile.
2

Start text setup

Click Set up SMS on the Text Communication card.
3

Agree to text messaging terms

Accept the text messaging agreement. This covers standard messaging consent requirements.
4

Send a confirmation text

The modal shows a phone number and a code. Send a text with that code to the provided number from your phone. Once Replay receives it, your number is verified automatically.
Once verified, the Text Communication card turns green with a Verified badge and shows your phone number.
You can enable one channel without the other. For example, set up email notifications but skip text — or vice versa.

Notification preferences

After verifying at least one channel, you can fine-tune exactly what you receive. Each notification type has independent Email and In-App toggles, so you have full control.

How it works

All preference changes auto-save — there’s no save button to click. Toggle a setting and it takes effect within a couple of seconds. If you try to turn on an email notification before verifying your email, Replay automatically walks you through email setup first, then enables the notification once you’re verified.
