Once your admin has connected Replay to your LMS (see Connecting Your LMS with LTI), you can add Replay activities directly to your courses. Students will be able to launch them with a single click — no separate login required.

Adding a Replay Activity

1

Open the activity or assignment picker in your LMS

This varies by LMS:
  • Canvas: Go to your course → Assignments+ Assignment → set Submission Type to “External Tool”
  • Moodle: In your course, click Add an activity or resourceExternal tool
  • Blackboard: In your course, click ContentBuild ContentWeb Link (with LTI provider)
2

Select Replay as the tool

Choose Replay from the list of available external tools. Your LMS will open Replay’s activity picker.
3

Choose your activities

You’ll see all the Replay activities available for your organization:
  • Roleplays — AI-powered conversation practice
  • Rapid Fire — quick question-and-answer drills
  • Script Memorization — practice delivering key messages
  • Mirroring — listen and repeat exercises
  • Monologues — presentation practice
  • Lessons — structured learning modules
  • Courses — multi-lesson learning paths
Click on one or more activities to select them. Selected activities show a checkmark.
4

Add to your course

Click Add to LMS at the bottom of the screen. The selected activities will appear as assignments in your course.

What Students See

When a student clicks the activity in your LMS:
  1. They’re automatically signed in to Replay (no account creation needed)
  2. They land directly on the activity, ready to start
  3. After completing it, their score appears in your LMS gradebook
Students are identified by their LMS account. If your institution’s privacy settings limit what information is shared, students may appear with generic names in Replay’s analytics.

Updating Activities

One of the benefits of LTI over SCORM is that changes to activities happen automatically:
  • Updated scenario? Students see the new version immediately
  • Changed scorecard criteria? The next attempt uses the new rubric
  • New instructions? No need to re-upload anything
The link in your LMS always points to the current version of the activity.

Tips for Instructors

  • Start with one activity to test the flow before assigning to the whole class
  • Check the gradebook after a test run to confirm scores are coming through
  • Use courses (multi-lesson paths) for structured training programs
  • Use roleplays for the most impactful practice — students get AI-powered conversation partners that adapt to their responses
